Fantastic looking bike and restoration - well done Robert.

On registration numbers, my Dad's 1938 HRD Series A Comet was registered in Doncaster and was EFC 251, how odd that Oxford and Doncaster used numbers so close.

On the G2, my father also had one of those, a 1937/38 250 Clubman Deluxe (or Clubman with some deluxe features, the upswept exhaust and chrome tank). I say 37/38 as it had the centre stand frame of 37 as oppose to the rear stand of 38.

I'd dearly love to be out in touch with anyone thinking of parting with one of these machine, I'd like to have one because my Dad used to have one.

Regards

Very nice and nice to see another one around. I have a G15 CSR and have had it since 1966, not used for the past 15 years. Looking to put it on the road but need to know how to make it run on unleaded, can you help with this.

My first motorbike as opposed to a scooter, cringe!!! Crankshaft broke soon after. Not uncommon. Shop paid for new one. Did many miles on it from 1965 to 1967.
Then bought a 1961 Bonneville. Bit quicker and more reliable.
The bikes on here look amazing. Does anyone remember Joe Francis dealership in Eltham SE9?

Sorry I missed this earlier. It raises an interesting situation and a number of issues for others to offer opinions on. Some speedo gearboxes were designed for anti-clockwise use.

Great bike... I have a 1965 UK registered Model 18 I am restoring at the moment. Have had a few problems with the front end as the forks were changed at some point in the past for a set of Featherbed Roadholders. Unfortunately the yokes are different... didn't fit and someone removed the stops on the frame... hence nothing to stop the forks hitting the tank. Got a set of the correct forks (from a G12CSR) to swap, but need to find a way to repair the frame.
Great to see one having completed restoration and looking good.

Hi
Wondered if youcould help me. I have an AJS 18S and when i removed speedo to check rotation of cable I found that sitting on bike looking downt it is turning anti clockwise. This i know to be the wrong direction for my smiths speedo which needs clockwise rotation as you look down on speedo. Are there different gearboxes for the bike or am i missing something?
Thanks
